Who does love a pop-up? And Mondrian Hong Kong’s Corner Shop art’s space in Tsim Sha Tsui knows how pop it like it’s hot.
You might not know this, but in the depths of Tsim Sha Tsui, there’s a pint-sized arts space championing modern pop culture that you might want to check out. The Corner Shop by Mondrian Hong Kong is a fun, awkward wedge-shaped art space located across the lane from the hotel and dedicated to the art of the pop-up.
The space is currently exhibiting Anton Poon’s sculptural masterpiece, RUBIKS, which contemplates everyday encounters and emotions through geometric form, contrasting colour and visual lightness. Anton’s sculptures Lunging, Compass and Bestowal, composed of painted carbon steel to evoke human interaction and relationships, focus on the contrast between distance and intimacy, emotion and connection, and complexity and delicacy.
Now the tiny gallery prepares to welcome a special collaboration between Good Kid Bad Student and Avoca, the hotel’s cocktail bar, for two nights of fascinating events.
This unique collaboration will bring together cool sounds and cocktails, showcasing the commitment of Good Kid Bad Student to fostering a thriving underground electronic music culture and the signature cocktails of Avoca (above).
For two nights and two hours only, The Corner Shop will host a free drinks and music event, and welcomes the community to join in. The event is open for walk-ins only, and entry will be granted on a first-come, first-served basis as space permits. Guests are encouraged to arrive early to secure their spot at this exclusive event.
