A revolutionary new Qi charger, the Biscuit is all about future-proofing your tech.
Have you noticed that the thing about technology is that isn’t just not made to last? You can buy that new smartphone and almost count the days until it suddenly starts having problems (usually 364 days after you brought it). As consumers, we have traditionally been duped into buying into the hype of technology that’s near disposable, and it’s having an impact on the world we live in. Fortunately, one company is trying to think of ways to make charging life’s little essentials a little more sustainable.

The Biscuit is an upgradable, repairable wireless charger encased in yttrium stabilised zirconia ceramic. What does that mean? Well, not only does it look good but it’s future proof because you can swap out components as tech develops rather than tossing one device in lieu of another.
Designed and manufactured with the same unbreakable components that win us over at the phone shop. the Biscuit offers a charging solution that’s an antidote to the ill-considered accessories market. It’s encased in either zirconia-graphite or pure zirconia, one of the hardest materials known to man. Zirconia’s toughness and thermal properties mean it’s used in both aerospace and industrial processing and has also been employed by the high-end watch market as a scratch-resistant alternative to steel that’s just two points below diamond on the Mohs hardness scale.

The beauty of this pint-sized charging station is that its also fully – and easily – repairable. It has been developed without the use of adhesives in the assembly because adhesives either don’t age well or they make it difficult to reassemble components neatly. Instead, Biscuit uses a novel anchoring method to plug the silicone parts into the body, so that the entire assembly can be taken apart in less than 30 seconds.
This means that as the Qi standard inevitably increases in capacity, new cores can be added to help futureproof the device. Whatsmore, there’s also space that has been allocated to accommodate future tech above the circuit board and yet the Biscuit is one of the world’s smallest Qi charging platforms that boasts a concealed terminal.
