Slip behind the wheel and explore some of the world’s most fascinating destinations with the new Aman Driving Journeys.
There’s no doubting the allure of the open road, the sense of possibility and discovery afforded by a road trip, especially if you have the right people travelling shotgun with you. We’re confessed fans of the epic road trip, and it seems we’re not alone as luxury hotel group Aman launches its new Aman Driving Journeys.

Aman’s urban hotels and remote resorts are located in some of the most beautiful destinations on the planet, so it makes sense that the company would create a set of self-drive itineraries that allow travellers the chance to enjoy both sublime houses of slumber and the adventure of the road – whether it’s the wind-carved dunes of the Sahara or the sacred forests of Japan – in between.
Bringing Aman’s legendary service to a highway near you, the new bespoke journeys set guests up in a luxury sports car, SUV or vintage cruiser on supported three to five-day adventures that use Aman properties as their bases. Aman can even handle shipping if you prefer your own ride.

You’ll drive for three to five hours a day, setting your own pace and schedule as you explore the route via personalised Aman iPhones with preloaded bespoke guides that recommend off-the-beaten-track stop-off points – from coffee shops and galleries to all the best photo opportunities. Lunch stops range from picnics and casual meals in authentic road-side eateries, to exquisite fine dining when the opportunity arises, and, should things go a little pear-shaped, a support vehicle is never far away.
Best planned for spring and autumn in the Northern Hemisphere, Aman Driving Journeys can be arranged from a number of iconic Aman resorts and hotels worldwide, including Amangani and Amangiri in the US, where you might explore Escalante National park or the mighty Yellowstone.

You can also tackle the Atlas Mountains from Amanjena in Morocco, trace ancient pilgrimage routes from Aman Kyoto and Amanemu in Japan, and discover the rolling countryside of the Peloponnese or island hope in a luxury Riva cruiser from your base at Amanzoe in Greece (above). Alternatively, Aman Venice and partner hotel Rosa Alpina in Italy can be tied in with a visit to Ferrari’s private race track and even a chance to drive the tunnels of Lake Garda a la Casino Royale; and Aman Sveti Stefan in Montenegro.
You’re only limited by your imagination and the road ahead.
