A timepiece for true connoisseurs, the new Patek Philippe Advanced Research Aquanaut Travel Time Ref. 5650G heralds the introduction of two new important innovations in the field of horological design.
Sporty yet elegant, and limited to just 500 pieces worldwide, this unique timepiece features a new Spiromax balance spring made of Silinvar, the brand’s patented version of silicone, that features two terminal curves.
The second inspiration is a compliant mechanism crafted in just 12 parts from conventional horological steel used to set the second time zone in time-zone watches, another industry first.
The Ref. 5650 Aquanaut Travel Time also contains the ingenious Patek Philippe time-zone function that apart from local time also displays the local date, a second time zone (usually home time) and a day/night indicator for both time zones.
Its blue dial with the bright-dark gradation features the well-known embossed Aquanaut pattern and at 9 o’clock has an ample aperture through which the silvery steel flexible mechanism with the four crossed leaf springs, the meticulously finished surfaces, and the chamfered edges are clearly visible.
Equipped with the caliber 324 S C FUS movement the Patek Philippe Advanced Research Aquanaut Travel Time Ref. 5650G is presented in white gold.
