Inspired by the Masters’ low amateur, Adidas has created the limited-edition Crossknit DPR “Low Am” golf shoe.
It doesn’t get much more prestigious on the global pro golf tour than the Masters, where the world’s greatest professional players compete head to head. However, there is also room for amateurs to strut their stuff on the links, and the lowest-scoring amateur – the Low Amateur – receives their own silver cup, accommodation at Augusta National, and a chance to rub shoulders with the pros at the winner’s ceremony.
Inspired by the low amateur and the luxurious accommodations they enjoy during the final days of the Masters, Adidas continues its tradition of limited-edition releases timed to coincide with the great golf tournament with the Crossknit DPR “Low Am” golf shoe. With a green, white, and grey colour palette taken from the interiors of the Crow’s Nest, the exclusive accommodation afforded amateurs at Augusta during the Masters, the new golf shoes build on an Ultraboost running midsole with a textile upper with supportive Forgegrame technology.
Keen sneakerphiles will notice subtle Low Am branding on the sole, set beneath fish-scale Traxion outsoles, and on the sockliners mimicking the carpet found in the Crow’s Nest, as well as a tab on the tongue that sympbolises the windowpanes of this lofty lodge through which so many amateurs have looked as they begin their professional careers.
