007 Elements: Finally, an exhibition space fans of James Bond won’t be able to resist.
We can’t think of a more fitting location for a James Bond-themed museum than Sölden, the backdrop for Spectre‘s iconic winter action scene. Here, in a beautiful, bespoke building designed and constructed by Obermoser arch-omo zt gmbh, set against the towering Austrian Alps, 007 Elements has opened as the world’s first cinematic installation dedicated to the spy with the License to Kill.
Perched 9,800ft above sea level, on the flanks of Gaislachkogl Mountain, and accessed by one of the world’s most captivating gondola rides, the Johann Obermoser-designed exhibition features a series of high-tech, interactive exhibitions covering everything from the exotic locations and innovative gadgets to the cars and the characters that have formed Bond’s world these last 50-plus years.
The museum is arranged over two levels and features a series of nine chambers, including Barrel of the Gun, dedicated to two fundamentals that are synonymous with the James Bond films, innovative title sequences and dramatic, spine-tingling music; The Lair, which explores characters and dialogue; and The Tech Lab, where visitors can interactwith the technology and to explore some of the legacy props anddigital creativity used in a James Bond production.
The museum is next to the ice Q restaurant, the location for the Hoffler Klinik in Spectre, where James Bond meets Dr. Madeleine Swann and the snow chase sequence begins in the film.
We bet you thought museums were all the same.
